The bill provides that the ombudsman ”“shall provide oversight of the child protective services provided by the department to identify and report on trends in the handling of the cases and make recommendations on ways to improve the child protective services system.” This includes providing reports twice each year to MT DPHHS to which the Department must respond in 60 days including a description of how it will implement the recommendations.
